Beyond Smoke and Mirrors Webinars

Join us in discussing the current status of Cannabis in the State of Minnesota!

Each one-hour long Zoom Webinar will feature our 2 speakers giving a 40 minutes PowerPoint Presentation followed by a 15 minutes Q&A by the attendees utilizing the chat box.  All three of the hour-long Zoom webinars will feature the same information. These events are FREE and are open to the public.    Registration links below.  A recorded version of the webinars will be made available following the event.

Webinar Objectives:
1. Gain understanding of the impact of cannabis use on health.
2. Increase knowledge of the health, social and economic issues pertaining to the commercialization of cannabis.
3. Increase knowledge of community-based approaches to educate your community and its leaders on the potential impact of cannabis if commercially legal in Minnesota.

Our two speakers will provide an overview of issues regarding the commercializing of cannabis.  This will include an overview of  Smart Approaches to Marijuana Minnesota (SAMMn), the status of current policy proposals, current scientific knowledge about cannabis and how it impacts health, and what individuals and communities can do to engage local policy makers and councils to bring awareness about this topic.  Please watch the attached, “Beyond Smoke and Mirrors: Science-Based Marijuana Prevention” video invite created by Kim Bemis, Chair of SAMMn, and Ken Winters, PhD, co-founder of SAMMn and the group’s research advisor,  by clicking on this link .
